Accessibility
Buying or selling a home should be possible for everyone. Here’s what we do to make Clavesta accessible, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.

Our commitment
In short: we design to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and fix problems you tell us about.
Clavesta aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA on clavesta.com and in the Clavesta app. Accessibility is part of how we design, build and review every feature, and we keep improving as we learn from the people who use Clavesta.
How we build for accessibility
In short: readable type, strong contrast, keyboard and screen reader support.
- Readable text: we use Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for low-vision readers, and pages reflow when you enlarge text or zoom to 200%.
- Contrast and color: our color palette is designed to meet WCAG AA contrast in light and dark mode, and we don’t rely on color alone to convey meaning.
- Keyboard access: everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link on every page.
- Screen readers: pages use headings, landmarks and labels; buttons and form fields have names; and status changes, such as a message being sent, are announced.
- Plain language: we write in plain English and put a short summary at the top of each section of our legal pages.
- Motion: we keep animation minimal and respect your device’s reduced-motion setting.
- Touch targets: buttons and links are sized to be easy to tap.
Known limitations
In short: a few areas depend on content we don’t fully control.
- Photos and documents members upload: listing photos are labeled by room, but may not have detailed descriptions, and documents members upload to a deal may not be accessible PDFs.
- Calculator charts: calculator results are shown as text and numbers, and some calculators add a chart of the same results. If any result isn’t clear to you, contact us and we’ll walk you through it.
- Signed term sheet PDFs: they contain real text rather than images, but aren’t yet fully tagged for screen readers. The same terms are shown in the app, and we can send them in another format on request.
Third-party pages
In short: checkout, ID checks and safety checks happen on our partners’ pages.
Some steps take place on pages run by our partners: payment (Stripe Checkout), identity verification (Persona) and background screening (our consumer reporting agency), plus the meeting service a seller chooses for a video tour. These partners publish their own accessibility commitments. If you have trouble with any of these steps, contact us and we’ll help you complete it another way where we can.
Feedback and help
In short: email us and we’ll help, including with alternative formats.
If you run into a barrier, need information in another format (such as large print or a plain-text version of a legal page), or need an accommodation to use Clavesta, email support@clavesta.com with “Accessibility” in the subject line. Tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do and the device and assistive technology you use, if any. We aim to reply within 2 business days.
